His family is quite creative, his mother recently winning a few awards for her work in Western Australia. So, his 'oddness' certainly comes from her side. (Love you mum).
His father, who hasn't ever finished a book has given him his sense of humour - much to the "enjoyment" of his friends and partner, Corrie.
While Rick is still in full time employment as a mortgage and protection adviser, writing fits in between the working day, walks and more often than not, pub visits :)
Not yet published, but mum says she'll buy one ;)
Rick was born in New Plymouth, New Zealand. Moved to Western Australia and did his high schooling there.
At some point in his twenties, he travelled over to England. The idea was to stay with his dad, get a pub job (like most Aussies did) then go back to the sun.
But life had other plans. For one, he met Corrie. So it all went kinda downhill from there, lol.
He's had various jobs over the years, retail to the pub trade, call centre to builders merchant, but now is a fully trained and qualified mortgage adviser.
Writing has helped him combat his own depression and need for escapism, and after having far too many projects on the go at once - has combined several, adapted others and re-envisioned it to the work he is publishing now.
Corrie is not only Rick's (long suffering) partner but is also an artist herself.
A mixed medium artist, which basically means that she will have a go at anything ! From decorating skulls, painting murals at home to the pictures and designs that you see on her website. She have always been creative and her very first creation was pressed flowers and some questionable handwriting on a picture to her Nan and Grampy, aged 5. (her words - not mine, lol)
He's usually the most chilled out of all of us. He loves his comforts and has about half a dozen spots about the house - including his very own chair.
A Jack Russell-Pug cross and 100% mad. So fits in to the household well. He loves life, chasing anything and his excited ear shattering bark/squeak is a source of amusement and tinnitus.
